Ever since Hits 93 Toronto was started, we began receiving a huge number of requests for full out album plays. We rather ignored these because we didn’t expect people to listen. However, this all changes tonight when we introduce #TakeoverFriday, a new concept that gives our listeners the opportunity to hear albums they would have otherwise looked over.
Make sure you tune in tonight at 6:00 p.m. EST for Revival by Selena Gomez. The album peaked at number one, selling over 100,000 in its first week. The album produced hits such as “Same Old Love,” “Kill Em with Kindness,” “Hands to Myself” and Good for You.” When we play the album in full tonight, it will be the world radio premiere for fan-favourite “Sober” and much of the album.
Then, tonight at 7:00 p.m. EST we play Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande. The album itself is Grammy nominated, having various hits such as “Side to Side (with Nicki Minaj),” “Into You,” “Dangerous Woman,” and now “Everyday (with Future).” Make sure to tune in for this – there are many songs that I personally consider the gold standard.
Later, at 8:00 p.m. EST we play Demi Lovato’s latest–Confident. Although we now know Demi Lovato is known for rants, we do realize that this album is quite stepped on. The album’s lead single “Cool for the Summer” was one of Lovato’s most successful to date. The latter single “Confident” expresses her desire to lead the role of confidant. If we follow along, we may realize how much we like this one.
Finally, at 9:00 p.m. EST we end it off with a bang, Miley Cyrus really delivers with her latest studio album Bangerz. The album produced hits such as “Wrecking Ball,” “We Can’t Stop” and “Adore You.”
